Fearless- An Original Spoken Word
The world does not define who you are.
You are far more than the eyes can see.
If you were once told you are not good enough, I'm sorry.
Because that God that created me has taught me to believe I am fearless.
The world says one thing, but my God says another.
Under the lie and pain, God knows your name.
In all your shame, God does not blame.
For you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Fearless you are for you will go far to glorify God is all things.
He brings light in the darkness, hope to the broken, when his words are spoken, hearts are flung open.
I say this once more, you were made to be fearless.
Be still and know because our God is always near us.
The Story Behind the Words
This was written during a season in my life where I felt like I was facing giant mountains that I could not seem to get over. I was a sophomore in college trying to figure out life, navigate around COVID, and felt all alone in every situation I went through. I remember seeking wisdom and guidance through all of this. I was praying and suddenly felt an overwhelming peace and presence from God that I could not explain. The first thought that I had after I prayed was the word fearless. I knew in that moment that this was God reminding me that I can fear less and that I can lay everything down at His feet knowing that the God who created the mountains and valleys, also created me. I was not alone and God was with me every step of the way, even if He had to carry me up those mountains.
