Rely on God

Have you ever felt like you were the person that everyone relied on? You know what I'm talking about, you have characteristics about yourself that just draw people to you and they just open up and start telling you everything. I have recently experienced this. Don't get me wrong, I am a great listener and I love giving advice to people, but sometimes I feel so inadequate giving advice to such difficult situations. I often remind myself that there is no sorrow that Heaven can't heal. This is so true and so powerful, but that does not mean there won't be any trials and tribulations. When people rely on me, I have learned to rely on God. No matter how much I think I can fix someone or fix the situation they are in, I can't. What I do know is I have a rock, a firm foundation that I can stand upon and when the heavy things of life weigh people down, I may not be able to fix their problem, but I can speak truth to that problem. I can remind them of who their creator is. We serve a God who created all things. Now all things may not be good, but God is good in all things. The Bible is the word of God and there is so much truth and wisdom that God is ready to tell us only if we seek Him. So, yes reach out and talk to someone about those difficult situations or listen to someone who is struggling, but first and foremost seek God. He created you, knows you by name, and is waiting for you to come running into His arms.
